Color evokes the emotion of packaging design; color should play three main roles in iron box packaging design.
A. Packaging colors should attract shoppers' attention
Colors can attract our attention very effectively. Studies have shown that the wavelengths of certain colors can attract people's attention. The research report points out that red, yellow, green and pink are the four most attractive colors. Using these colors on the packaging will increase the physiological possibility that people will look at your packaging.
However, this does not mean that all packaging should be red, yellow or green. If all packaging uses the same color, no product stands out (based on color only).
B. Color should create appropriate emotional associations
In our culture, certain emotions are given certain meanings; in China, red is related to happiness and enthusiasm; blue is related to tranquility, trust, stability and sadness; yellow is related to happiness and green is related to money.
Research found that people will make subconscious judgments about products within 90 seconds of seeing them. Most of these people evaluate these products based solely on color: Nearly 85% of consumers see color as the main reason for buying products, while 80% believe that color can increase brand awareness. It is important to remember to choose colors that inspire you to associate with your products.
C. If you have a brand logo, then your brand has a certain color. Your logo should be highlighted on the packaging so that loyal customers can identify the brand they trust and new customers can understand your brand.
The color you choose for your packaging design should be based on this logo. Whether you choose to use similar or contrasting colors, they should work harmoniously.
